One of the issues with older dogs is their sensitive stomachs. Treats, their favorite food even some oral medications can cause bile to be coughed up staining your carpet. The first thing to do is consult your vet. Typically the remedy is simply giving your dog an acid reducer such as Famotidine, a generic version of Pepcid. Once or twice daily of a 10mg dose will give your dog relief.

As for the stains on your carpet use a quality pet stain remover. There are plenty on the market and one of the best is Nature’s Miracle. It quickly removers the stain and the odor associated with the stain leaving a neutral no smell behind.

We live on a dirt road and every time we take our dog for a walk, her paws are covered in mud. We decided to buy a set of paw protectors to help reduce the cleaning before she tracts mud throughout the house.

The paw protectors work great! What use to take 15 to 20 minutes of dunking in water and towel drying now takes just a few minutes to wipe off a little splashing. The paw protectors slip off easily, rinse off, and dry fast so she is ready for another walk later in the day.

The approaching warm weather of spring in the northern parts of the country brings with it a new flea and tick season. The best method to ensure your dog does not become infested with fleas is to get out in front of problem. A good quality flea collar at the beginning of the season will do just that.

If your dog becomes infested with fleas your house will soon follow, so outfitting your dog in a flea collar not only protects them but your family as well. Ticks are another problem warm weather bring out. Ticks gorge on blood by attaching themselves to your dog. If this happens to you, they need to be removed quickly using a tick remover tool.

Fleas can be a pesky problem that can be avoided with a flea collar while ticks can be dangerous if left untreated. Avoid the costly treatments and shampoos by outfitting your dog in a good quality flea collar at the beginning of the season.

The Best Dog Car Seat Cover

5 March;  Author: Hrynewich

We have a brand new car and a dog the seems to be a constant state of shedding. Since we like taking our dog everywhere, we go so we decided to buy a dog car seat cover to contain the hair. The seat cover works great! All the hair stays neatly on the dog seat cover which is washable as well as easy to install.

The straps keep the dog car seat cover in place so when our dog walks across the seat the cover does not slip. We have tried blankets and old sheets but they never stayed put while this dog car seat cover worked perfectly.

If your dog pulls and tugs when you go for a walk then you are not alone. Pet owners have struggled with this issue for some time. Below is a customer review of the Easy Walk dog harness:

A “must” for any dog (4 out of 5 Stars)
This is the 3rd dog I have purchased one of these harnesses for. Your dog simply cannot pull or walk in front of you. They will “heel” naturally. The only problem I had is that this little darling decided she did not like her harness and chewed it up. Little does she know a new one is on the way.

I have a 190 lb English mastiff, with HUGE barrel chest. I have not found a seatbelt to fit him until now. Kurgo Tru-fit Dog Car Harness with all the straps extended as far as they will go, it just fits around him. I bought this dog harness just to see if it would fit and was very surprised when it did. The information part of the page doesn’t give measurements, just weight ranges for dog car harness sizes so I will list them below for all that are interested. It comes from the dog harness package itself.
