Most people think that paw protectors for their dog are only good for winter but rather they can protector your dog’s paws year round. The other day when I was walking my dog, we ran into some broken glass on the side of the road.

Of course, my dog almost walked right through it and instead we moved into the street and around the glass. It was one of those first hot sunny days and the asphalt was blazing hot. I was glad I still outfitted her with her paw protectors. I can only image what walking on hot asphalt would have done to the pads on her paws. With the temperatures heating up so will streets and sidewalks you use to walk your dog.

We live on a dirt road and every time we take our dog for a walk, her paws are covered in mud. We decided to buy a set of paw protectors to help reduce the cleaning before she tracts mud throughout the house.

The paw protectors work great! What use to take 15 to 20 minutes of dunking in water and towel drying now takes just a few minutes to wipe off a little splashing. The paw protectors slip off easily, rinse off, and dry fast so she is ready for another walk later in the day.

My Dog Loves Her Paw Protectors

18 December;  Author: Daily Wag

Dog Paw ProtectorsOur dog is a member of the Working Group and loves to spend as much time as possible outdoors. No matter the weather conditions, our Husky is ready to go, playing or walking, as long as it involves being outside she is happy. Living on a dirt road covered in snow and rocks outfitting our dog in paw protectors provided an extra measure of comfort.

It took a bit for our dog to get used to the paw protectors. Once she realized how great they worked and it meant going for longer walks now, she jumps up and down waiting for her dog paw protectors to go on. I am looking forward to spring when the yard and our walking path turns to mud; with the paw protectors keeping her feet dry and dirt free.

Dog Boots

As the snow begins to fall in the Northern 48 dog boots and dog paw protectors can become an important accessory to your dog clothes. Below is a customer review of a very popular brand:

Hands down the best dog boots going ™¥™¥™¥™¥™¥
This is my 4th pair of Muttluk all weather boots. I have tried the winter fleece-lined boots only once. They are too warm for my dog. I have an Australian Shepherd mix who is very heavy footed. My dog ejects himself from the back door, off the deck onto the grass at full speed and gallops across the yard in rain, mud or snow to get to whatever creature he has seen that has his interest. He will “throw a shoe” on occasion, but they wear like iron. I buy a pair new every year, and keep the old ones just in case. 90% of the time they stay on and with a dog this large and active, that in itself is a miracle. These are – hands down – the best boots going. Older dogs will take a while to get used to them and it depends on the personality and temperament of your dog as to whether or not they will wear them. My dog does what he’s told and has no problems. Give them a try. If you don’t like them, return them.
